While media choice is used to shape my art, there has always been more of a focus on the heart of the piece than the materials themselves. Just as chance informs my process, emotion shapes the framework of my pieces. Whether the impression is comforting or confrontational, I express emotional implications through my pieces. These emotions then invite the viewer into a dialogue. This evocative exchange allows for a discussion about the artwork’s perspective that will then extend beyond the art piece. In turn, the art I produce reflects this desire to build a dialogue between the viewer and my artwork. Within each piece I construct, from topics such as social justice and mental health commentary, there is an underlying soul containing a matter that I hope to express to the viewer through my art.
